Deutsche Brings Aboard a Pioneer Exec

Sean Taylor, the former Head of Global Emerging Market Equity at Pioneer Investments [profile], has come aboard Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management [profile] (DeAWM). Taylor has will serve as the firm's Head of Emerging Market Equities.

Based in the company's London offices, Taylor will report to DeAWM's co-CIOs Randy Brown and Asoka Woehrmann. In a company press release, Brown praised Taylor's "strong track record as an emerging markets investor." DeAWM has been on a hiring spree as it hones its equities investment offerings. Just a few weeks ago the firm announced it had added Richard Glass as U.S. head of small- and mid-cap value equities, along with asset managers Richard J. Hanlon and Mary C. Schafer to its New York offices.

Sean Taylor joins Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management as Head of Emerging Markets Equities

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) announced today that Sean Taylor has joined the company as Head of Emerging Market Equities. Taylor oversees DeAWM’s Emerging Markets Equity strategies, products and investment teams globally. He will report to Randy Brown and Asoka Woehrmann, Co-Chief Investment Officers of DeAWM, and will be based in London. Jerry Miller, Head of DeAWM Americas, said: "We continue to enhance our investment platform by adding expertise in asset classes that offer significant opportunities for our clients. Sean has a very strong track record as an emerging markets investor and I am delighted that our clients will now have access to his exceptional insight.” Randy Brown, DeAWM’s Co-Chief Investment Officer, said: “The long-term outlook for emerging markets remains positive, helping to sustain robust inflows from investors. With many of our clients looking to increase their emerging markets exposure, Sean will be a valuable addition to the team.” Taylor joins from Pioneer Investments, where he was Head of Global Emerging Market Equity. From 2004 to 2011, he was Investment Director at GAM, responsible for managing global emerging and frontier markets funds. Before this, he spent seven years at Societe Generale Asset Management UK, where he headed the emerging market desk before becoming Head of Global Equity. From 1994 to 1997, Taylor was with Capel-Cure Myers as a fund manager for international equity. Before, he worked for James Capel Investment Management (HSBC). Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management continues to enhance its equities investment offering and recently appointed Richard Glass as U.S. Head of Small and Mid Cap Value Equities. In addition, Richard Hanlon and Mary Schafer joined the Firm, reporting to Glass. Glass, Hanlon and Schafer are based in New York.
