Forget about Chocolate Swirl. Don't even think about Rocky Road.

IndexUniverse columnist Elisabeth Kashner writes that the ETF sector's favorite flavor is still vanilla.

In her article, she looks at the 30 largest ETFs and breaks them down into three levels of complexity: Vanilla as in simple; Cookies & Cream, with a smattering of complexity, and , which aspire to be the most complex.

The products sampled include offerings from State Street; iShares, and Vanguard.
