Rydex Funds is searching for a national manager of broker-dealer sales following the recent departure of Mike Carpenter. Whether Carpenter took other employment in the fund industry could not be determined by press time.

A spokesperson for the firm confirmed his departure and that he has not yet been replaced. "We are looking," she added.

Carpenter had reported to Lou Foran, director of sales and marketing, until the end of 2002 when Foran left the firm. That position also remains open.
