Fundsters with actively-managed shops who are trying to push back against passive management should read John Rekenthaler's latest report.

The Morningstar research vice president picks apart a Janus [profile] presentation on why investors should choose active managers over passive ones, rating the points on a folly score. He concludes by urging mutual fund marketing departments to drop such attempts in favor of "letting their managers' numbers do the talking."
