The Morningstar PR team is searching for a new lead spokesperson for the advisor-focused pieces of Morningstar's business.

Shawn Malayter, formerly head of media relations for the Chicago-based mutual fund ratings shop's advisor business and its conferences, confirmed that last month he left and joined Guaranteed Rate, Inc. as vice president of public relations. Also based in Chicago, GRI is a rapidly growing home loan company.

Alexa Auerbach, director of media relations for investment management at Morningstar, confirmed that Morningstar is searching for Malayter's successor. Morningstar has posted job ads online on its own career website and on Gorkana.
