Global Investment Systems is responding to its recent growth by adding a second business development manager. The new hire is
Ilicia Silverman, who was most recently an account executive with Financial Models Company. Earlier in her career worked as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch and as an assistant vice president at Cantor Fitzgerald.
She will take over half of the sales duties at the Hackensack, New Jersey-based supplier of accounting software. She will be responsible for the development of new business opportunities within the mutual fund, hedge fund, pension fund and third party administrator markets.
"At a time when many financial firms are cutting back, GIS is extending its reach," said
Nigel N. Wilson, CEO and president of GIS. Wilson added that the firm created alliances or signed contracts with FT Interactive, Close Brothers, Bank Pekao of Poland and Gainskeeper in 2002.
GIS was formed 10 years ago after a management buyout from Price Waterhouse.
