Thousands of advisors, fundsters, 
Charles Schwab team members, journalists and others are converging on Denver this week.
Yesterday the discount brokerage giant's 
IMPACT 2014 conference for the RIAs its serves 
began at the Colorado Convention Center. On the IMPACT website Schwab 
claims that 1,700 advisors, 300 exhibitors, 250 Schwab employees, plus other execs and journalists will be there. Word at the conference is upwards of 4,000 people could be in attendance.
The theme of this year's IMPACT is 
Empowered (not to be confused with the 
freshly re-branded retirement plan provider based in Denver).
Featured speakers this year include: former Fed chairman 
Ben Bernanke, DonorsChoose.org founder and CEO 
Charles Best, Duke University senior fellow 
Dan Heath, economist 
Dambisa Moyo, Schwab chief investment strategist 
Liz Ann Sonders and Potomac Research Group chief political strategist 
Greg Valliere. Tomorrow afternoon Schwab's own 
Bernie Clark, executive vice president of advisor services, will bring former U.S. President 
George W. Bush on stage for an interview.
The conference is scheduled to end at lunch on Friday.
