This morning at the
Schwab IMPACT 2014 conference at the Colorado Convention in Denver, before the
Schwab team veered off to explore Africa, Schwab execs
Bernie Clark and
Jon Beatty took to the stage to
honor the winners of Schwab's annual IMPACT awards. The Schwab team has honored RIAs with the awards since 2006.
This year's winners were:
-San Francisco-based
Bingham, Osborn & Scarborough, "Best-in-Business";
-Newport Beach, California-based
United Capital Financial Advisers, "Pacesetter";
-Newport Beach, California-based
Beacon Pointe Advisors, "Trailblazer";
-and Albert Lea, Minnesota-based
Alliance Benefit Group of Minnesota & Kansas, the
first ever winner of Schwab's brand new "Best-in-Retirement Business" award.
Each winner chooses a charity, and Schwab donates $15,000 those charities. Bingham picked Bay Area Legal Aid, Edgewood Center for Children and Families, and Shanti Project. United Capital picked the Orange County chapter of the Tech Project. Beacon Pointe picked the Beacon Pointe Advisors Fund -- OCCF. And ABG-MNKC picked the Albert Lea Public Education Foundation and the Marion Medical Mission.
The awards ceremony is part of another
jam-packed IMPACT conference. The big draw today is former U.S. President George W. Bush, whom Clark will interview at 4:30pm.
