The directors on the board for
Natixis' [
profile] mutual funds have hired their own spokesman.
Beth Healy of the
Boston Globe reports that the board hired
Will Keyser, former communications manager for the campaign of Massachusetts' Governor-elect,
Charlie Baker. Baker, in turn, is brother-in-law to Natixis CEO
John Hailer, and Baker had served on the Natixis funds' board for six years, though he stepped down a year ago when running for Governor.
The news comes a month after the
Globe detailed a sexual harassment settlement involving Hailer and a former Natixis executive,
Paula Rezza. Natixis told its corporate board in Paris about the case, without telling the funds' board here.
The new article also highlights six of the eleven current members of Natixis' fund board: Hailer, himself former Representative
Martin Meehan, to whom the
Globe says Keyser "has ties"; chairwoman
Sandra Moose, formerly of Boston Consulting Group;
Ted English, CEO of Bob's Discount Furniture;
Peter Smail, an alumnus of Fidelity; and
Erik Sirri, formerly of the SEC and currently a finance professor at Babson College.
