A veteran of the Boston Behemoth is poised to take over Rhode Island's Department of Administration.
Dee DeQuattro of the
the local ABC News affiliate reports that today Governor-Elect
Gina Raimondo (a Democrat) named
Michael DiBiase (a Republican, according to
NPR) as her choice for Director of Administration.
The
Bond Buyer,
GoLocalProv, the
local NPR affiliate, the
Providence Journal, and
WPRO News Talk 630 (99.7 FM) also reported on Raimondo selection of DiBiase.
DiBiase, 57, has spent nearly 14 years at
Fidelity, most recently as senior vice president of state government relations and public affairs. Prior to that, he spent six years in the administration of then-Governor Lincoln Almond. And before that he spent 10 years in Providence practicing law. He's an alumnus of Boston College and U. Penn.
The Rhode Island Department of Administration manages the state's financial and human resources, overseeing the development and administration of the budget, the standards for state contracts and bids and the like, and more.
