The
College Savings Foundation (CSF), a trade group for the 529 plan industry, formally named its board of directors today.
Charles Toth, director, education savings, Merrill Lynch, chairs the board of the Washington, DC-based foundation.
Eric Nottonson, vice president at Fidelity Investments is the vice chairman. Other key members are
William Raynor, vice president & director of education savings and sales at AIM Investments who is the foundation's secretary and its treasurer is
Sarah Henriksen, director, education planning at Strong Financial.
The CSF is planning to lobby at the state level to support tax policies that provide equal treatment to all 529 savings programs as well as encouraging the ongoing federal tax-free status of qualified distributions, said Nottonson.
Nine more 529 program sponsors sit on the foundation board. They are:
