A retired star
T. Rowe Price [
profile] PM just made the biggest donation in his alma mater's history.
Last month
Baldwin Wallace University president Robert Helmer
revealed that
Steve Boesel pledged $15 million to BW and its business school. Boesel graduated from the liberal arts college (based in Berea, Ohio, outside Cleveland) in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in economics.
Helmer calls Boesel's gift "transformative" for students of BW's School of Business, of which John Lanigan is dean.
Fundsters would
know Boesel from his
33 years at T. Rowe. He was a PM on the
T. Rowe Price Capital Appreciation Fund, the
T. Rowe Price Growth & Income Fund, and the
T. Rowe Price Large Cap Value Fund before retiring nine years ago.
Boesel has been on BW's board of trustees since 1997, and he and his late wife, Jacquelyn, previously made a multi-million-dollar donation to support the more-than-doubling four years ago of BW's Conservatory of Music. The conservatory now includes the Boesel Musical Arts Center.
BW dates back to 1845 and is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It has
3,987 students, including 365 MBA candidates.
