Ex-Fidelity president Gail J. McGovern has joined the board of directors of The Hartford Financial Services Group. The 51-year-old resigned holds down a position as professor of marketing at the Harvard Business School for her full-time job.

"Gail brings to our board tremendous financial services marketing and strategic planning expertise and a wealth of customer-service technology experience," said The Hartford's Chairman Ramani Ayer. "We will benefit greatly from her powerful combination of general management, business-to- business, consumer and technology savvy," Ayer added.
