A mutual fund reporter recently switched publications and beats, and his new home also made several other related additions.
| Chris Dieterich Wall Street Journal Market Maniac Reporter | |
Chris Dieterich, formerly "Focus on Funds" blogger and "ETF Focus" columnist at
Barron's, is returning to the
Wall Street Journal, this time as the "market maniac reporter,"
Gorkana reports. (
Barron's and the
WSJ are sister publications within News Corp.) And the
WSJ also made several other editorial moves that may be of interest to fundsters.
Meanwhile, there is no word yet on how Dieterich's shoes will be filled at
Barron's.
Greg Bartalos, editor-in-chief of
Barrons.com, tells
MFWire that it's still "to-be-determined" who will take over the "Focus on Funds" blog and the "ETF Focus" column. Recent contributors to "Focus on Funds" include reporter
Teresa Rivas, staff writer
Johanna Bennett, and several others.
At the
WSJ, Dieterich isn't the only new face fundsters may want to get to know.
Brian Hershberg just became wealth management editor,
Lisa Beilfuss became a wealth management group reporter, and
Asjylyn Loder joined as an ETF and market structure reporter.
Dieterich, an alumnus of Regis University and the University of Missouri-Columbia,
joined Barron's two years ago after working as a markets reporter at the
WSJ. He previously worked at Dow Jones Newswires (also part of News Corp) and American Banker.
Hershberg, an alumnus of the College of New Jersey, most recently served as an economic news editor at the
WSJ. He joined the paper in 2002 and previously worked with the Courier-Post.
Beilfuss, an alumnus of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, most recently worked on the
WSJ's real-time desk. She previously worked at Chopper Trading, Getco, Briefing.com, and Northern Trust.
Loder, an alumnus of Johns Hopkins and NYU, most recently worked as a reporter-at-large at
Bloomberg, covering commodity and energy markets. She previously worked at the St. Petersburg Times and the Herald News.
