Week In Preview, June 11-17

The Financial Planning Association's (FPA's) June 2018 FPA Residency Program at the Hilton Denver Iverness in Englewood, Colorado, which started on Friday, will continue through Wednesday.

Today Kunal Kapoor and his team will kick off the 2018 Morningstar Investment Conference. Held at the McCormick Place convention center in Chicago, this is the 30th annual MIC, and more than 2,100 attendees are registered. Pre-conference sessions begin this morning and early afternoon. Speakers scheduled to take the main stage include: Walt Bettinger, CEO of Charles Schwab; Jeremy Grantham, co-founder of GMO; Mellody Hobson, president of Ariel; Daniel Kahneman, psychologist and Noble-Prize-winning behavioral economist; and Kevin Kelly, founding executive editor of Wired. Financial Research Associates' (FRA's) fourth annual Responsible Investing Summit, initially scheduled for tomorrow and Wednesday at the Harvard Club in Boston, has been postponed.

Tomorrow and Wednesday investment bankers at Morgan Stanley are hosting their Morgan Stanley Financial Services Conference at the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel in New York City. Among other speakers, Victory Capital's David Brown (chairman and CEO) and Terence Sullivan (chief financial officer and head of strategy) will speak at the event tomorrow morning.

On Wednesday the Osney Media team will host The Summit for Asset Management (TSAM) New York at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. The sold out event is being held at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts and will also feature a helicopter ball drop, a post-golf reception, and a live auction.

Also on Thursday, Susan Wyderko and the Mutual Fund Directors Forum (MFDF) team will continue their "director discussion series" with an open forum in Greenwich, Connecticut at the Indian Harbor Yacht Club.

Also on Thursday, the Fixed Income Analysts Society, Inc. (FIASI) team will host their 23rd annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Dinner. The event will be held at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City and will honor three inductees: John "Mac" McQuown, co-founder of Diversified Credit Investments; Mary Miller, former T. Rowe Price fixed income director and former Under Secretary for Domestic Finance at the U.S. Treasury; and Mark Shenkman, founder and president of Shenkman Capital Management.

Exchangetradedfunds.com's 14th annual Global ETF Awards Conference & Dinner, initially scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed to July 19. The event will again be held in New York City.
