Smart beta ETFs and other exchange-traded products (ETPs) reached $835 billion in worldwide AUM at the end of November, dwarfing two other ETF niches, according to the latest data from an ETF-watching research firm.
Earlier this week, the
ETFGI team
revealed that data about smart beta ETFs and ETPs. The team also revealed that, as of the end of November, actively managed ETFs and ETPs
held $151.24 billion in AUM, while ESG ETFs and ETPs
held $52.3 billion.
To put those numbers in context, the ETFGI
revealed last month that, as of the end of November, worldwide ETF and ETP AUM reached $6.2 trillion. So, by those estimates, smart beta accounts for 13.64 percent of ETF and ETP industry AUM, active funds account for 2.47 percent, and ESG funds account for 0.86 percent.
The ETFGI team estimates that worldwide, as of the end of November, there were: 1,351 smart beta ETFs and ETPs from 167 providers; 964 active ETFs and ETPs from 147 providers; and 269 ESG ETFs and ETPs from 71 providers.
