Fenimore Asset Management (FAM) has added a fresh face to its board of corporate directors.

Fran Skinner, a longtime fundster and public speaker,
joined the Fenimore board in August of 2019, bringing the board's membership to a total of ten executives. The addition was made public February 12 of this year. Skinner is a partner and co-founder of
AUM Partners, an Illinois-based leadership and talent development firm.
"Fran possesses a great combination of investment industry expertise and business leadership experience that will pay dividends for our investors and investment team," states
Tom Putnam, founder and executive chairman of FAM. "She is respected throughout our industry for her knowledge and insights, and we are fortunate to have her join us."
FAM was founded in 1974 by Tom Putnam and offers both separately managed accounts and mutual funds. The FAM corporate board has been in operation for "at least thirty-five" years.
As a financial expert, Skinner has more than thirty years of experience in leadership and consulting positions in the investment industry with Mellon Bank, Focus Consulting, and
Diamond Hill Capital (where served as CAO and as a board member). She also worked at Principal for six years and, prior to that, served as a director at Allstate for over sixteen years. Skinner authored the book High Performing Investment Teams and regularly serves as a keynote speaker and workshop presenter with organizations such as Barron’s and Morgan Stanley. She is an alumna of Saint Xavier University and holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
