A longtime PR ally to fundsters is preparing to step back but not out.
A PR and marketing firm
JConnelly
(which serves a number of asset managers), president
Ray Hennessey is
succeeding
founder
Jenn Connelly
as CEO. Connelly now serves as executive committee chair and in the newly created role of artist-in-chief, in which she will lead a team of twelve working directly with clients.
"I have extraordinary shoes to fill," Hennessy tells
MFWire. "[Connelly] built this, so my number one goal is to build on all the growth that she set us up for having run this company for seventeen years now."
Hennessey adds that while Connelly will still have involvement in the executive committee, her role as artist-in-chief will allow her to focus on clients.
"Jenn started this company with nothing, and built it into 70-plus people around the country," Hennessey says. "Along the way obviously she had to shift in what her own priorities were. She had to balance the work that she loves, which is working with clients, with managing her own business. She will still be very involved in executive committee but wanted to focus her time on what she loves most, which is the client side."
JCPR, founded by Connelly in 2003, later
rebranded as JConnelly. Hennessey joined the firm in 2016, and has served as chief innovation officer and president. Prior to joining, Hennessey's experience includes roles at Invest in Others Charitable Foundation, SmartMoney.com, and Fox Business network. He graduated from the The College of New Jersey.
