T. Rowe Price closed a high-yield bond fund and a small-cap stock fund to new investors on Friday, citing heavy inflows that can make it difficult to manage the funds, Reuters reports.
The High Yield Fund grew to $3.9 billion from $2.4 billion over the course of 2003, with market appreciation and $930 million of inflows.
The Small-Cap Fund grew to $5.2 billion from $3.4 billion, with net assets accounting for $535 million of the increase.
Both funds will continue accepting additional investments from existing shareholders and from investors who have them available in certain retirement accounts, a spokesman said.
