Global Investment Systems Ltd. (GIS), the Hackensack, N.J. accounting software supplier, will offer its software products on an ASP basis.

According to a company spokesperson, no clients are currently using the ASP, but GIS is speaking with a prospect, who is interested in remote access to the MFACT and MSHARE products.

The remote hosting option allows clients to access GIS software via a Citrix mainframe server, with the software and data residing in a secure offsite hosting facility.

GIS offers MFACT for fund accounting and administration, MSHARE for transfer agency and shareholder recordkeeping and the MPARTER and MHEDGE suites for partnership accounting and managed futures and fund-of-funds accounting. More than 3,500 mutual funds, hedge funds and portfolio accounts use the products.
