ICON Advisers and ICON Funds have hired
Carrie Schoffman, a former SEC examiner, as chief compliance officer.
Schoffman, who started working at ICON last month, reports to Andra Ozols, general counsel of ICON Advisers. As part of her dual role, she will also report directly to the ICON Funds board.
The fund board was "very involved" in her hiring, said spokeswoman Cynthia Crossland.
"Carrie's experience in examining and auditing investment advisers will support ICON's overall compliance process and bring added depth to our legal/compliance efforts," said
Andra Ozols, ICON's executive vice president and general counsel.
Ozols, Schoffman and Russell Burk, assistant general counsel and director of compliance for ICON Distributors, form the compliance team for the advisor.
ICON managed $2.9 billion in assets as of June 30, 2004.
