PowerShares submitted a
filing for an additional 20 broker-sold exchange-traded funds on Monday.
The majority of the funds are sector-specific, targeting industries ranging from biotechnology and media to internet software and consumer electronics.
The company is still waiting for the SEC to approve an exemptive filing allowing PowerShares to sell its products through intermediaries.
Last week, Powershares filed a registration statement for seven broker-sold exchange-traded funds.
