Strong managers and the majority of their support staff have agreed to join
Wells Capital Management, the investment advisor to the Wells Fargo fund family.
The managers will continue to work out of their offices in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; Denver, Colorado; and New York City.
Shareholders will be sent proxy materials regarding the reorganization of Strong's assets into Wells Fargo funds in mid- to late-October, and will vote on the issue on December 10.
Will Wells ditch the scandal-tainted Strong name? Mums the word, so far. Expect a decision in one or two months, said Wells Fargo spokesman Drew Wineland.
