Dreyfus is looking to add to its wholesaling force, says John Whitaker, a regional consultant for Dreyfus.

The new hires will aid with the company's refocused efforts to target the financial advisor channel, says Whitaker.

In a departure from past efforts, Dreyfus is now focusing its efforts on a few firms, including advisors working with Merrill Lynch, A.G. Edwards, American Express and LPL, says Whitaker. Previously, Dreyfus' efforts in the advisor channel were broad-based.

Whitaker, who started with the firm in February, has been spearheading the effort, which began in June.
