The SEC has decided to try, try again to revamp 12b-1 fees. The
WSJ reports that, in a speech Friday at the Practising Law Institute's annual "SEC Speaks" conference, commissioner
Christopher Cox said he would like a "complete overhaul" of the controversial fees to be considered by springtime. Cox also sees a summer deadline for the SEC to make online information available about broker-sold funds and to finalize the summary form prospectus proposal. One final prediction from Cox is that the SEC will have two Democrats weighing in when these decisions are made.
