FleetBoston Financial is indeed negotiating with executives from its Robertson Stephens unit to complete a management buyout.

A Fleet spokesperson confirmed that the talks have been ongoing for some time. He added that the parties expect to complete the talks soon. The Boston Globe reports that only half of workers at Robbie Stephens are expected to stay on.
