Dreyfus is about to get into the active ETF business. Earlier this month the
BNY Mellon subsidiary
filed with the SEC to create an unspecified number of actively-managed ETFs within a brand new Dreyfus ETF Trust. Beyond noting that Dreyfus may use sub-advisors (perhaps other BNY Mellon managers), the ETFs themselves are not described.
The MFWire could not immediately reach a Dreyfus spokesperson for further comment on the move.
Dreyfus is no ETF neophyte. In 2008 it partnered with fundamental indexer
WisdomTree to launch five currency income ETFs.
