Mutual fund sales through banks were up in February, reports
Kenneth Kehrer Associates. The Princeton, New Jersey-based researcher specializing on the banking industry reports that average daily sales of bank funds were up twenty percent from January levels.
Banks sold $2.3 billion of funds in February, or two percent less than in total than in January. The decrease was an artifact of February being a short month with four fewer days available for sales. Still, bank channel sales remained far below January 2002 figures when they hit $3 billion.
